California = Driest Year Since 1921… California is experiencing its driest calendar year since 1921. We all know that last winter was dry. It was very dry. So far this ski season, there hasn’t been any relief. Most of California is between 25% and 5% of average precipitation between January and early December. That’s not great. Sunset in Lake Tahoe Tonight | Photo Tour Lake Tahoe put on a show tonight. The coming storm sped up winds and created layered lenticular clouds. They hovered above the lake at dusk and reflected the reds, oranges, and pinks of the evening sun. From a pier Tahoe City, California the show was stunning. Both East and West light up. The only thing lacking in tonights sunset was snow. There is absolutely no snow in Tahoe right now. It is still early, but Tahoe looks naked.
