Lake Tahoe Snowpack is Average For This Time of Year | Precipitation is Only 72% of Normal

The first manual measurements of 2020 have put the Lake Tahoe snowpack at pretty much average for this time of year. Data collected by Jeff Anderson, an NRCS hydrologist, from SNOTEL sites showed snow depth of 54 inches, 16-inch water content and the snowpack to be 107% of normal. NWS: NorCal Reservoirs in Good Shape Thanks to Great 2016/17 and Average 2017/18 Precipitation

While Sierra snowpack was below average this spring, NorCal reservoirs are sitting fairly full heading into the summer. This is due to a wet 2016-2017 winter and near average Sierra precipitation this past winter.
