VIDEO: Markus Eder Gaps Highway, Skis Insane, Self-Built Ski Track in Italy I’m going to let the video do the talking for this one. But point in case, is there a skier in the game more creative and harder charging than Freeride World Tour champion and Volkl Skis athlete Markus Eder? Hard to say… Related: VIDEO: Watch Markus Eder’s SWITCH Cliff Drop as the FWT Comes to an End at the Verbier […] Martin Kuprianowicz | February 20, 2020 0 Comments
Mammoth, CA Conditions Report: Good To The Last Drop! This weekend is Mammoth Mountain, CA’s final weekend of the season. Mammoth will close on Sunday after having been open for 219 days this season! Last season Mammoth was open for an astonishing 273 days… We drove up to Mammoth from the 114ºF heat of Palm Springs last night and arrived at 2:30am. Admittedly, I felt a bit underwater today, […] Conditions Report Miles Clark | June 15, 2018 0 Comments
Springtime at Grand Targhee Resort, WY Return of the Sun! With the flip of daylights savings time the dawn glow warms the mountain at a gradual pace, and the blue of the sky is bold and bright. We arrived at 10am as the rays of light spread across the western facing slopes- radiating upon the fresh grooming. The Groomers have been hard at work since the […] Conditions Report Aaron Lebowitz | March 16, 2018 0 Comments
Dachstein, Austria: Late May Glacier Skiing For most people in Europe, the ski season is over. Pretty much all of the resorts have closed their slopes and lifts. But if you really miss skiing, there are still some glaciers up there, where you can do few more turns, or hit some jumps before you definitely put your skis to summer rest. One of these places […] Conditions Report OJ | May 24, 2017 3 Comments
Whistler, B.C. Conditions Report: Still Ripping Spring time in Whistler always promotes good fun, with long days making it possible to do many activities. The snow is slushy and smooth, the sun is out, goggle tans are in full swing, and everyone is having a good time on the hill. This spring has been interesting as Whistler Blackcomb decided to leave Whistler open into the late months of winter instead of Blackcomb. This has actually been really fun for me as I rarely ride Whistler. Lapping peak chair with no lines, and doing side hits and wind lips […] Conditions Report Peter Wentz | May 22, 2015 0 Comments
Alta Conditions Report – Great Coverage and Spring Temps! This winter in Utah has sure been a weird one. Crazy warmth and not much snow. But there is a reason we ski Alta. Even a bad year hear is better than a normal year in Colorado. The past few weeks have been very warm, but luckily Alta is mostly North facing and the coverage on most slopes is still good. By the afternoons everything is skiing great. The Collins Jib lap is […] Conditions Report Aaron Rice | March 31, 2015 0 Comments
Whistler Conditions Report: Slushy Days Within this past week Whistler has seen a lot of sun and some clouds mixed in here and there. The mornings may be a bit icy and hardpack all over the mountain but as long as you wait until the afternoon and ski the sunny slopes you will have a good time skiing off of the groomers. These warm temperatures have made the snow pretty fun by later in the day with some soft spring skiing. Shaded areas have remained firm but the grooming has been on point making it possible to rip super fast without any worries. I have been skiing on 7th for most days and the Coulior on the skiers right side by the […] Conditions Report Peter Wentz | March 10, 2015 1 Comment
Crystal Mountain Conditions Report | Corn, Chalk and Chowda Though the northwest is still hungry for more snow, the spring-like conditions at Crystal are surprisingly rad! Near the top of the resort, north-facing slopes still have some protected, chalky snow, allowing for smeary, fast turns. Once the sun heats up the steeper south-facing runs, the slush is easy to mash through and there are plenty of shrubs and rocks to jump over if that’s your thing. As always, the groomers are speedy and consistent with plenty of small rollers to pop off. Rachel Delacour | March 8, 2015 0 Comments
