Surfing Lake Tahoe Today | 6-Foot Stellar Waves | Photos & Video

Lake Tahoe had it’s best surfing day in recent history. Surfing on the lake hasn’t been popular for that long. In it’s short history, today was the best day that anyone could remember. The waves were big, they had good shape, and they were peeling. 50-yard rides were had which is pretty ridiculous considering this is a lake with only 22 miles of fetch. People were surfing all over the North Shore. Some spots were overhead with ripping winds and rowdy rides. Some spots were smooth with peeling waves and moderate crowds. NOAA: Snow & SURF for Lake Tahoe, CA Today | Snow Down to 6,000-Feet, Waves up to 4-Feet

Lake Tahoe, California is expecting it’s 3rd snowstorm of the 2014/15 winter season today. Snow levels will be as low as 6,000-feet tonight in Tahoe. The wind will be ripping along the lake today as well. So many people are surfing Tahoe now, that we’re going to start having Lake Tahoe surf forecasts. Count this as our first.
