Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Telluride community, our hearts go out to all those impacted by COVID-19. We are committed to doing our part to reduce the spread of this virus and hope you will join us in our mission. The virus is present in Telluride andย San Miguel County,ย and health officials advise the public to followย CDCย andย Countyย guidelines and mandates to preventย the spread of COVID-19.
San Miguel County Public Health issued a new Public Health Order effective June 1, that will be more aligned with the Stateโs new Executive Order. The new order will open up several sectors of the economy while keeping the health of the community a priority. Under this new order, lodging will open to guests at 25% capacity and the 14-day quarantine for people returning to the area will be lifted. Private campgrounds opened on June 1, with state and federal campgrounds already open.ย In conjunction with the Stateโs Order, childcare and summer day camps can resume operations, with restrictions and precautionary measures in place. Parents are encouraged to contact their childcare facilities or camps for more information.
Restaurants may open to dining indoors and outdoors with capacity limitations, and tables and groups must be limited to no more than eight people and spaced so that patrons are a minimum of six feet apart. Based on the Stateโs Executive Order, bars are not allowed to open at this time, with a reevaluation scheduled in June. Retail and personal services resumed operations in early May, and will continue to operate with best practices in place.
