Telluride Ski Resort in Colorado has announced a delay in its opening day, originally slated for late November. Now targeting December 2nd or 8th, the resort cited recent and expected warm weather conditions as the reason for this postponement.
โOur top notch team and sophisticated snowmaking system have taken advantage of every snowmaking opportunity, which is why this was a close call in the first place.โ
– Brandon Green, Director of Snowmaking
The resort has opted for a later opening to ensure a higher quality and safer skiing experience, added Patrick Latcham, Telluride’s VP of Sales and Marketing.
โWe pride ourselves on opening with a quality product and wall-to-wall coverage that provides a fun and safe skiing experience.โ
– Patrick Latcham, VP of Sales and Marketing
The resort encourages enthusiasts to stay tuned for updates and prepare for an exciting season ahead, with ample activities planned both on and off the mountain.

The news comes as two Tahoe resorts postpone their opening day, as has Snowbasin in Utah. Alta Ski Area, UT, announced earlier this week it was postponing its opening day indefinitely.
