These Are the 20+ North American Resorts Still Open for Skiing Into May

Spring has sprung, and some of you might be mothballing your snow equipment, but then there are the die-hard fans of all things snow who will not quit until the last resort is closed for the season.

We looked for our readers to see where they can still turn in their turns (and projected closing dates) in North America. Of course, all these dates are dependent on conditions.

Colorado

  • Loveland – 5/12
  • Arapahoe Basin – as long as possible
  • Breckenridge – as long as possible
  • Copper Mountain – as long as possible
  • Winter Park – Mary Jane is open as long as possible

California/Nevada

  • Donner Ski Ranch – open weekends as long as conditions allow
  • Palisades Tahoe – 5/27 (Alpine closed 4/28)
  • Mammoth – 5/27

Utah

  • Brian Head – 5/5
  • Solitude – 5/12 at least
  • Brighton – 5/19
  • Snowbird – 5/27 at least

East Coast

  • Sugarbush, VT – 5/5 (weekend only)
  • Sugarloaf, ME – 5/5
  • Jay Peak, VT – 5/12 (weekend only)
  • Killington, VT – as long as possible (daily through May 5, then Friday-Sunday and Memorial Day only)

PNW

  • Crystal Mountain, WA – 5/5 (weekend only)
  • Mt. Hood Meadows, OR – 5/18 (daily through 4/28, then weekends only)
  • Mt Bachelor, OR – 5/26 (lifts 8:30 am – 1:30 pm)
  • Timberline Lodge, OR – as long as possible

Arizona

  • Arizona Snowbowl – 5/5 (weekend only)

Canada

  • Lake Louise, AB – 5/5
  • Marmot Basin, BC – 5/5
  • Sommet St-Sauveur, QC – 5/20 (daily through April 21 then Friday-Sunday + Victoria Day)
  • Banff Sunshine Village, AB – 5/20
  • Whistler Blackcomb, BC daily on Whistler Mountain through 5/20 (Blackcomb now closed)
