As 2025 quickly approaches and around 90% of all Americans own a smartphone, accessibility to information is constantly at our fingertips. I find myself saying, “Just Google it” or “Look it up” multiple times a day about many different things. However, I must admit that most of those things are related to skiing. Thankfully, plenty of other people are constantly combing the depths of the internet for new findings. These “nine most googled ski towns” combined receive more than 1.1 million monthly Google searches.

9. Breckenridge, Colorado

Breckenridge, Colorado, or “Breck,” as the locals call it, is known for its five distinct peaks and historic downtown. Ski from 12,840 ft, the highest lift in the United States, about 3,000 vertical to downtown Breckenridge for aprรจs-ski on Main Street. The three most common searches associated with Breck were: โ€˜Historic Townโ€™, โ€˜Five Peaksโ€™, and โ€˜Family-Friendly Atmosphereโ€™.

8. Wolf Creek, Colorado

Wolf Creek, Colorado, is well known for receiving the most annual snowfall in the state. Pair that with some of the best, most accessible, exhilarating in-bounds, backcountry-feeling skiing, and what more could you ask for? โ€˜Highest Snowfall in Coloradoโ€™, โ€˜Quiet Ambianceโ€™, and โ€˜Backcountry Feelโ€™ were the highlighted searches for Wolf Creek.

7. Arapahoe Basin, Colorado

Arapahoe Basin, or A-Basin, Colorado, boasts the third highest elevation in Colorado, at 13,050 ft. From steeps and deeps to the longest ski season in the state, enjoy the mountain with minimal crowds, thanks to the intentional limiting of lift tickets. The main searches related to A-Basin were โ€˜Long Ski Seasonโ€™ and โ€˜Rocky Mountain Vibes.โ€™

6. Park City, Utah

When Park City and Canyons merged in 2015, it became the biggest ski resort in the United States, with 7,300 acres of terrain. When the aprรจs-ski calls, cruise over the road into historic downtown, thanks to access from the Town Lift. Three common searches associated with Park City were: โ€˜Olympic Parkโ€™, โ€˜Largest Ski Resort in the U.S.โ€™, and โ€˜Luxuryโ€™.

5. Crystal Mountain, Washington

Not only is Crystal Mountain Washingtonโ€™s largest ski resort, but it also offers some of the most stunning views of Mt Rainier and the Cascade Range. An average of 486 inches of snowfall across various terrain for all skill levels makes the skiing options limitless. โ€˜Mt. Rainier Viewsโ€™, โ€˜Tree Skiingโ€™, and โ€˜Thrilling Terrainโ€™, were the most searched phrases regarding Crystal Mountain.

4. Aspen Mountain, Colorado

Aspen, Colorado, effortlessly blends the upscale aprรจs-ski scene with the extreme, big mountain attitude. With four mountains and 5,700 acres to explore, the groomers and glades on the “town mountain” all lead down to the heart of Aspen. Three searches were highlighted in relation to Aspen including: “Glamour Meets Skiingโ€™, โ€˜Nightlifeโ€™, and โ€˜High-End Diningโ€™.

3. Snowbird, Utah

Snowbird, Utah, is arguably one of the most flocked-to places in the U.S. by advanced and expert skiers worldwide. 500+ inches of annual snowfall and a 2,900 ft vertical drop, matched with some of the most legendary terrain, create an incredible big-mountain playground. The three most common searches for Snowbird were: โ€˜Advanced Terrainโ€™, โ€˜Longest Ski Seasonโ€™, and โ€˜Snowcat Ridesโ€™.

2. Winter Park, Colorado

Winter Park, Colorado, and its seven mountain territories are a favorite amongst skiers and snowboarders in the state and visiting. The laid-back aprรจs-ski scene is perfect after exerting yourself all day on over 3,000 acres of pristine terrain for all skill levels. โ€˜Backcountry Skiingโ€™, โ€˜Seven Territoriesโ€™, and โ€˜Scenic Rail Ridesโ€™ were the most associated searches with Winter Park.

Topping the list is Copper Mountain, Colorado, known for being both a family-friendly resort and an epicenter for aspiring Olympic athletes with the Woodward Copper training facilities. The world-class mountain naturally divides beginners and experts into the appropriate terrain, catering to any and all skill levels. The highlighted searches for the most searched-for ski town in the United States, Copper Mountain, were โ€˜Family-Friendly,โ€™ โ€˜Woodward Action Sports,โ€™ and โ€˜U.S. Ski Team Training.โ€™
