U.S. ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin and Norwegian ski racer Aleksander Aamodt Kilde are engaged. The couple shared the happy news on their social media today, April 4. The 29-year-old American and 31-year-old Norwegian have been dating for three years.

We know we tricked readers with an April Fool’s article last year regarding a supposed wedding, but we can assure SnowBrains readers that we are not pulling your leg this time. We understand if you may be reluctant after the fake wedding piece, but both skiers have social media accounts to back this up for those keen to fact-check. We don’t know if this will impact either of the skiers’ FIS nationality, but we assume there is no reason for them to change. FIS nationalities can be changed at the end of the FIS season (June 30), provided your national ski association releases you.
