United Airlines Adds A TON Of New Non-Stop Flights From Hub Cities To U.S. Ski Town Airports

Flying to your favorite ski resorts just got a whole lot easier.

United Airlines seems intent on being the industry leader for getting customers to ski destinations this next year. This is good news.

With more flights more frequently to destinations like Aspen, Vail, Steamboat, Jackson, Telluride, Reno/Tahoe, Mammoth, Salt Lake City, Sun Valley and Bozeman you can storm chase your heart out. Also, United’s new ski baggage policy is legit(see below).

These flights will service every Colorado, California and Utah Ski Resort on the Epic Pass.

CHICAGO, Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — United Airlines (UAL) today announced it is increasing its nonstop service from six hub cities to Aspen, Colo., Vail, Colo., Crested Butte, Colo., Steamboat Springs, Colo., Jackson Hole, Wyo., Sun Valley, Idaho, Bozeman, Mont., Glacier National Park, Mont. and Reno, Nev. The new routes will begin operating this winter and through spring 2018. Customers can begin purchasing tickets today.

“United offers customers the most service to the most ski destinations across the U.S.” said Jake Cefolia, United’s vice president of Sales. “Regardless of which hub our customers fly from, world-class skiing is just a short flight away.”

United’s 2017/2018 winter ski schedule provides dozens of new opportunities to hit the slopes at some of the best ski resorts in the world, including three new destinations this year with added flights between Chicago and Reno; Chicago and Sun Valley, Idaho, and between San Francisco and Vail, Colorado

United Airlines baggage information for ski and snowboard equipment

  • Up to two snowboards in one bag and one snow boot bag
  • Up to two pairs of snow skis and associated equipment in one bag and one ski boot bag
    • If the combined weight of the ski bag and boot bag is over 50 pounds (23 kg), applicable overweight charges apply.
    • A boot bag without an accompanied ski bag is considered one bag and normal baggage fees apply.
