Heli Skiing Alaska: Steep New Zones In Gorgeous Powder Snow

Report from April 15, 2025

Yesterday we got out there early knowing the clouds would be building in the afternoon.

We tip-toed as we have quite a few avalanche problems on the board and our reconnisance flight yesterday morning revealed hundreds of avalanches that occured mid-storm.

We started on very mellow terrain.

Then bumped up the angle slowly and tenitively.

By the end we were comfortable skiing steep, short terrain in terrific powder snow.

The lines in the video above were exciting as it was a zone Iโ€™d never skied before.

There was a bit of sluff in some of these zones and it was manageable.

It was an amzing day out there in two different zones before the clouds formed and sent us home about 4:30pm.

Another amazing powder day in Alaska and another storm walloping us for days again.

Thanks, Alaska!
