Valle Nevado, South Americaโ€™s premier ski resort, will open for daily operations today, June 7. This follows a significant early-season snowfall that dropped four feet of fresh powder on Chile’s Tres Valles.

“Thanks to excellent early-season conditions and a successful pre-opening last weekend, we are excited to announce daily operations will begin two weeks ahead of schedule.”

– Ricardo Margulis, general manager of Valle Nevado

During the three-day pre-opening, Valle Nevado welcomed over 3,000 visitors, setting high expectations for the 2024 season. “Last year, we were the first Chilean ski resort to open, and it was one of the best winters in resort history with nearly 250,000 skier visits. This year, we anticipate an even better season, expecting around 300,000 visitors, about one-third of all snow visitors in Chile,” added Margulis.

Regarding hotel operations, the resort expects occupancy rates above 90 percent during the winter months across its three hotels. International visitors comprise 80 percent of guests, with Brazil being the largest market, followed by Argentina, the U.S., and Europe. Among day visitorsโ€”those not staying at the hotelsโ€”about 70 percent are Chileans, and 30 percent are international, with Brazil accounting for 60 percent of the latter group.

The Valle Nevado Hotel will open on June 28, while the Puerta del Sol and Tres Puntas hotels will open on June 21. “Although the hotels are nearly fully booked during the first weeks of the season, some promotions are still available,โ€ continued Margulis.

Interconnection with La Parva

Last month, Mountain Capital Partners (MCP)โ€”the majority partner of Valle Nevado since 2023โ€”acquired La Parva ski resort. Following this acquisition, MCP announced the 2024 Power Pass will now include 7 interconnected days to Valle Nevado and La Parva during the 2024 ski season. This provides season pass holders access to the largest skiable domain in the Southern Hemisphere, with 7,000 skiable acres, 30 lifts, and 80 trails.

Valle Nevado will operate daily from June 7 through October 6 this winter, with lifts running from 9 am until 5 pm. Learn more at vallenevado.com/en.
