On Sunday night/Monday morning Pomerelle Mountain Resort, ID, got its second snow of the 23/24 season. The ski resort, at 8,000 feet in the Albion Mountains, celebrated as the flakes started to drop after also receiving snow two weeks ago on August 22nd.
Unfortunately, the dusting was not more than the 0.5 inches required to be classed as accumulating snowfall. According to the NWS, the earliest recorded date of accumulating snowfall at Pomerelle is October 23rd.
Breckenridge, CO, Mount Hood Meadows, OR, Mount Washington, NH, Mount Shasta, CA, Sunshine Village Banff, AB, and ski areas in Europe have all received snow in the last couple of weeks.
Ski season is less than 90 days away.ย Snowmaking is less than a month away.
