VIDEO: Snowboarder Falls Into Crevasse On Echo Peak, CA

This video gives you a good picture of the current dangers in the California backcountry.

This snowboarder slowly creeps up to the snow feature that looks like a bump and ends up falling into what looks like a small crevasse.

This feature is actually a Glide Crack that formed during the big rains last month and then was covered up by the recent snow. This feature is often the initial stage of a Glide Avalanche, but this one didn’t break off.
