VIDEO: Top 5 All Time Crashes During the Freeride World Tour Competition

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Freeride World Tour has released this video of the top 5 crashes during competition. Fortunately for these incidents, conditions were favorable and no major injuries occurred. However, this is not always the case.

Often times, conditions are very poor and as riders pick their lines the conditions continue to deteriorate through the heavy traffic. But before competitors even drop in, they must transcend the anxieties of competition. Pushed to the limits by spectators and even more so by their sponsors, each individual must battle the stresses of line choice, conditions, competitive rankings, and probably most difficult of all the dire consequences of what may happen in an accident on such gnarly terrain.

This summer, a terrible crash during a Freeride World Qualifier event in Argentina resulted in the death of an athlete.  Reportedly the first death sustained from any Freeride World Tour or Qualifier event and very tragic throughout the community. Hopefully conditions are good, they're looking favorable.
