The avalanche danger rating in the Salt Lake area of the Wasatch is currently listed as ‘extreme.’ Which is as high as the rating goes.
It’s not often you see the entire elevation/aspect compass turn black. Stay safe out there!

You can do that in American Fork, one of the few Central Wasatch canyons that allows it.
