On Saturday 12 September, Swiss rider Manuel Scheidegger set a new world record in rear-wheel riding.

The previous record of 25.86 km (16.07-miles) was clearly surpassed with 30.95 km (19.23-miles).

The wheelie world record is about covering as many kilometers as possible on the rear wheel in one hour. The front-wheel must never touch the ground, otherwise the attempt would be aborted.

The world record was set on a 400-meter athletics track in Gümligen (near Bern), Switzerland.
