A 26-year-old man is dead after a stabbing in Whistler, BC, just yards from the gondola, early Saturday morning.
At around 2 am, Sea-to-Sky RCMP responded to the Whistler Medical Clinic after a man had presented to the hospital with stab wounds.

IHIT has been called to Whistler, after a 26 year old man has died from stab wounds. The victim was not known to police, and this is not believed to be connected to gang conflict. According to a statement released by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), police arrived at the clinic and learned the man had passed away due to his injuries. Following witness assistance, a crime scene was identified in the 4100 block of Village Green, which was then secured.
Homicide detectives say itโs an isolated incident. According to the news release, theย victim was not known to the police, and the incident is not believed to be associated with the current Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Police say through the help of witnesses, the Village Green, near Whistler Way, was โimmediately secured.โ
โThere is no known risk to the public. Investigators believe there may have been witnesses in the area who have information, including cellphone videos and pictures, as well as dash-cam footage. Anyone who was in the area of Whistler Green between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. is asked to contact IHIT immediately.โ
