This weekend was the first weekend of the World Ski and Snowboard Festival at Whistler, and to start it off right we have had two bright and hot days up on the mountain.ย In the morning the snow was pretty hard, with signs cautioning about ice on most aspects.ย However, by around 11am most slopes were slushy and soft to shred on.
We headed to symphony in the morning in hopes of getting the earliest slush on Sun bowl.ย Indeed it was soft and awesome to ride.ย By midday we transitioned over to Harmony and Peak chairs.ย Skiing Peak chair was definitely a bit interesting as temps were not as hot as previous days and some snow did not turn super soft.ย It was still good riding though especially when you worked your way over to the sunny aspects.ย For most of the day we lapped Harmony chair line and Sun bowl as these runs were very soft, had many hits, and were in the sun.
WSSF is happening all week long, with concerts and events each evening.ย On the weekend there are free demos at the top of Whistler so be sure to check it out and have a good time!
