Thanks to an excellent snow pack in British Colombia this year, Whistler is planning on extending the spring season by an extra week.  This means that the resort will remain open until May 30th.

This season’s snowfall statistics at Whistler:

  • 1177cm (463in) of total snowfall
  • 292cm (115in) so far this march
  • The 10 year average snowfall is 1163cm (458in)
    • This has already been exceeded this season with recent snowfall

Doug MacFarlane, Director of Mountain Operations at Whistler Blackcomb, recently mentioned,

“we couldn’t be happier with how the season has unfolded.  We have received consistent consecutive storm cycles combined with low temperatures, creating great conditions for skiing and snowboarding.  So far in March alone we have seen 292cm (115in) in snow, which is well above the march average of 241cm (95in).  We are thrilled the conditions have allowed us to offer our guests an additional seven days of great spring skiing and snowboarding.”
