Good news for Montana…
NOAA is forecasting a large storm beginning tonight in Montana. Up to 15 inches of snow is forecasted with cold temperatures and strong winds. NOAA has issued a Winter Storm Warning from 3pm today until 6am on Tuesday morning.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 4500 FEET FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 AM MDT TUESDAY. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR ELEVATIONS BELOW 4500 FEET FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 AM MDT TUESDAY. * TIMING AND MAIN IMPACTS: LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVER THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN FRONT AND ADJACENT PLAINS BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON. PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY AND BEGIN TO TAPER OFF MONDAY NIGHT. * SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 3 TO 6 INCHES OVER THE PLAINS AND 8 TO 15 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS. * WINDS AND VISIBILITY: VISIBILITIES COULD BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN A HALF MILE AT TIMES DUE TO SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE THROUGH HIGH MOUNTAIN PASSES ALONG THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE. * OTHER IMPACTS: BECAUSE PAVEMENT TEMPERATURES ARE STILL VERY WARM...UNTREATED ROADS WILL BE VERY ICY TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY AS THE COLDER AIR MOVES INTO THE REGION. THESE COLD AND WET CONDITIONS WILL ALSO STRESS YOUNG LIVESTOCK.
