The atmospheric river arrives in Tahoe this weekend.
NOAA has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Lake Tahoe, California. ย The warning is in effect beginning Saturday evening and ends on Sunday night. ย 12-20 inches of snow are forecast above 7,000 feet during the winter storm warning.
Snow will begin on Friday with snow levels around lake level. ย Snow levels will rise up to 8,000 feet on Saturday night, then lower back down to lake level on Sunday.
This could be the base building storm that Tahoe needs to get things going this season.
Squaw has reported 75″ of total snowfall this year so far on the upper mountain. ย Squaw currenlty has a base of 10-33″.
