After getting 14″ of new snow from the latest October storm cycle, Wolf Creek Ski Area in Colorado announced that it plans to open for the 2021-22 winter season on Saturday, October 16.
And so it begins. Saturday, October 16th, and Sunday, October 17th, Wolf Creek will open the Nova Lift and Lynx Lift from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Grooming will take place with Mountain Operations evaluating Treasure and Bonanza terrain, according to a press release from the resort. Unless another ski area like Arapahoe Basin or Keystone beats them to it, Wolf Creek will be the first seasonal ski resort open in North America this season.
Will they win the race?
