Mt. Bachelor OPENS Tomorrow

Mt. Bachelor ski resort in Central Oregon will be opening for the 2013/14 winter season tomorrow, November 29th, 2013. They had a limited opening this week with one terrain park open but tomorrow they’ll bust out the big guns.

Ski lifts Pine Marten, Skyliner, Sunrise, & Sunrise Accelerator will be open starting tomorrow.

We’ve spent the last couple weeks moving snow from the parking lots and placing it in stategic areas around the mountain. Thanks to the hard-work of our Mountain Operations department, we are pleased to announced that the Pine Marten, Skyliner, Sunrise and Sunshine Accelerator lifts will open on Friday !

Our goal is to keep the four lifts open through Sunday, but if the snowpack becomes too thin, we may have to close some lifts before the end of the weekend. Looking further ahead, we intend to remain open daily, but the lift schedule will depend on how the snow is holding up. The forecast looks better, so keep praying for snow!

Please be aware that the snowpack is extremely thin. We strongly recommend skiing/riding ONLY on groomed runs. There will be numerous hazards – marked and unmarked – such as rocks, ledges, stumps, trees, bare spots, ditches and variations in terrain. Additionally, many runs will be narrower than normal, which may result in skier/rider density being higher than normal on the open runs. Play safe, play smart and enjoy the mountain!

Also starting Friday, the following services will be available at West Village: – Mt. Bachelor

• Food and beverages at Cocoa’s Cafe, the Clearing Rock Bar and Pinnacles
• Snowsports School, equipment rental & demos and Child care services
• Gravity Sports; shop for brand new 2014 gear and deep discounts on last season’s gear
• Lift Ticket sales and Season Pass pictures/pick-up

The Snowblast Tubing Park and the Nordic Center will reopen Friday and operate through the weekend.

Sunrise Lodge will NOT be open, so plan to park at either West Village or the Skyliner lot (no services).
