Mt. Baker ski area broke 400″ of snowfall last week and today they’re sitting on the 2nd deepest snowpack in North America at 170″ and they’ve seen 413″ of snowfall this year! ย Only 1 ski resort has gotten more snowfall this year, Alyeska at 509″.

NOAA’s strong El Nino forecast for the Pacific Northwest was for drier than normal and warmer than normal. ย So far, they’ve been dead wrong.

Only two ski resorts in North America (most likely Earth) have broken 400″ of snowfall this year: ย Mt. Baker, WA & Alyeska, AK.

Baker has the 2nd biggest snowfall total in North America and the 2nd deepest snowpack in North America. ย Not bad.

The skiing and riding at Baker was all-time last week with deep, dry snow and snow levels as low as 1,000-feet.

Baker called it for Saturday and Saturday delivered! ย The week was good, Thursday was great, then Saturday came and it was powderful! ย Happy powdery faceshots all around.” – Namoi VanPatten, SnowBrains’ Mt. Baker ski area reporter, Feb 7th, 2016
