This is why resorts put chairs on wind hold. 

Extremely high winds on Saturday tossed around ski lift chairs at Heavenly Mountain Resort, as shown in the video shared by the resort.

Heavenly was forced to put its lifts on wind hold due to a major winter storm slamming the Tahoe area. 

The resort wrote in the video’s caption, “A reminder that wind hold is always for your safety,” which also shows an employee at the top of the lift with his hands on his head in surprise.

The video was shot at the top of Heavenly’s Dipper Express Lift.
