The ski area is open to uphill traffic before and after the season, unless the sign at the base of the mountain says otherwise. Throughout the 2017-18 season, there were 0 avalanche fatalities in Utah, which marks the second year in a row. While the season isn’t over, it’s still a huge feat. If you’re venturing into a closed ski area, treat it as the backcountry and take all of the necessary precautions.
