2 Ski Resorts STILL OPEN in North America

Summer skiing on Mt. Hood

Now we are getting down to the specialists.  Timberline is located on Mt. Hood, Oregon and they have large glaciers that provide skiing from 10 months a year.  Beartooth Basin is a summer ONLY ski resort in Montana/Wyoming that is open from late May until mid July each year.  These two spots specialize and dominate summer skiing in North America.

Whistler will hop back on the list this weekend with skiing & riding on the Horstman Glacier of Blackcomb.   Whistler is yet another summer specialist.

The normal ski resorts are gone until Fall.  The Jackson Hole & Snowbird Trams are still open and they do allow skiing and riding from the tram.  It’s more of a backcountry experience than a ski resort, but it’s still lift access:

  1. Remember when everyone kept getting wrecked climbing Hood? I wonder if climbers use this lift.
