Inbounds Avalanche at Breckenridge, CO Strikes 3 Skiers

An inbounds avalanche struck 3 skiers at Breckenridge ski resort in Colorado at 2:30pm on Thursday, January 2nd, 2013 between Peaks 7 and 8.  The area is called “Whale’s Tail”.

“Whale’s Tail” had been opened on Jan. 2nd for the first time this season just before this avalanche occurred.

No one was injured during the incident.  The Colorado Avalanche Information Center is investigating the avalanche incident and they’ll be publishing their report soon.
