Itโs mind-altering that itโs June 3rd and 5 ski resorts are still open in North America. ย Mammoth added an extra week last week and now Arapahoe Basin has added an extra weekend.
The weirdest part about this summer is that it keeps snowing. ย A-Basin got 6 inches last week and Beartooth Basin got so much snow last week they couldnโt get the road open for the weekend. ย They got about 2 feet of snow! ย Thankfully, Beartooth is back to normal operations today.
CLOSING DATES FOR SKI RESORTS IN N. AMERICA:
–ย Timberline, ORย = September
–ย Beartooth Basin, MT/WYย = July 13th
–ย Crystal Mountain, WAย = June 16th (weekends only)
–ย Arapahoe Basin, COย = June 7-9th
–ย Jackson Hole Tramย = ย until the snow runs outโฆ
Valle Nevado, Chile opens up this weekend. ย This means that if you wanted to, you could literally never stop skiing. ย You could ski everyday this week at ski resorts in North America, hop on a plane, and start skiing everyday in South America without missing a day. ย Scary and fun to think about…and consider.
Timberline Zig Zag snow field was awesome this weekend; perfect corn most of the day. Some of the Wendell’s kids were going HUGE on the 1/2 pipe and jumps.
A bummer about Beartooth over the weekend. The bighorns in WY got 3+ feet
The beach at A-Basin is gonna be rowdy this weekend.
