No stranger to receiving the most snow in North America, Alyeska Resort, Alaska, is at it again. Yesterdayโs 20โณ dump took the ski area past 300โณ for the season. The resort has seen 304โณ of fresh snow this season and has a 115โณ base.
Considering itโs still early January, thatโs an incredible totalโmore than most resorts will see all season.

Alyeska averages 650โณ of snowfall on the upper mountain and 512โณ of snowfall at mid-mountain. The biggest year on record was 2012, with 978โณ of snowfall.
The resort was closed yesterday, Sunday, January 12, as a tropical storm brought high winds and heavy precipitation. However, a further 40โณ are forecast in the next few days, so conditions should just get better and better.
The world record for a ski area is 1,140โณ at Mt. Baker ski area, WA, in 1998/99.
