The United States of America swept the Ski Slopestyle Olympic competition last night.  This was crazy fun to watch.  The tricks going down these days are nutty.  Ski slopestyle made it to the olymipcs at the exact right time.

Gold = Joss Christensen (Park City, UT)  @ 95.8

Silver = Gus Kenworthy (Telluride, CO)  @ 93.6

Bronze = Nick Goepper (no poles from Indiana)  @ 92.4

Joss also got the highest score in the qualifier and posted the 3 biggest scores of the day.  The kid was on fire.

“He may have been viewed as an underdog, but his teammates and rival skiers believed he was the favorite based on his week of training leading up to Thursday’s competition,” said U.S freeskiing coach Skogen Sprang.

All three Americans landed triple corks in their medal runs.

Bobby Brown, the 4th American competitor got a very respectable 9th place.

This was the 3rd time that the United States of America has swept all three medals at a Olympic Winter Games event.  The other two were:  men’s figure skating in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortain d’Ampezzo, Italy & men’s snowboard halfpipe in the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.
