Arapahoe Basin ski area, Colorado’s COO Alan Henceroth announced on Friday how he plans on reopening the ski area if Governor Polis allows ski resorts to open next week.
According to the governor’s office, Governor Polis is expected to make an announcement about whether Colorado ski resorts can reopen this season on Monday, May 25th, 2020.
On April 30th, 2020, Governor Polis extended an order that blocked ski resorts from opening through at least May 23rd.

Alan states in his plan that:
- Reservations will be required
- Skier numbers will be limited
- Available space will be mostly for pass holders
- No tailgating
- Social distancing will be strictly enforced
Arapahoe Basin has been closed since March 15th, 2020 due to Coronavirus.
