Looking to refine your winter backcountry travel skills or want to learn some new techniques and methods? Look no further and sign up for a clinic or two during this yearโs Arcโteryx Backcountry Academy in Jackson Hole, Wyoming from February 6-9, 2020.
Whether you are a seasoned backcountry enthusiast or are just getting into the sport this academy offers it all. This will be the third annual Backcountry Academy and a wide variety of learning opportunities will be offered. Clinics will include introductory, intermediate, and advanced level ski touring or split boarding, crevasse rescue and glacier rope systems, snow safety and companion rescue, multiple levels of ski/snowboard mountaineering tours, and much more. The clinics will be either half-day, full-day, or, in some cases, multi-day learning opportunities.
You will be accompanied by Arcโteryx athletes and Exum Guides, providing time with some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the industry. This year 14 athletes will be attending and assisting in teaching or leading clinics, some attendees include Eric Hjorleifson, Greg Hill, Michelle Parker, Janelle Smiley, and Sam Kuch.
At the end of a big day in the mountains, you will have the chance to socialize and partake in evening events in town. There will be happy hours, film presentations and photo competitions to keep the stoke alive and well throughout the weekend.
