Aspen Skiing Co. yesterday announced a further two days of skiing and riding at Aspen Mountain this weekend, June 15 โ€“ 16, as part of summer operations over the Food & Wine Classic.ย These extra days make 2018/19 one of the longest skiing and riding seasons in the resort’s history, according to a press release sent out by SkiCo, with 168 days.

According to the release, skiers and riders will enjoy around 100 acres on a 30-inch base depth.

ย โ€œWe love that we can celebrate this historic season of snowfall with both skiing and summer activities in Aspen,โ€ Katie Ertl, senior vice president of mountain operations, said in the release. โ€œThis is the perfect time of year to get outside, and get in two or even three sports in a day, with skiing, biking, hiking, golfing and more.โ€

The Silver Queen Gondola will be open for sightseeing and the Sundeck, located at the top of Aspen Mountain, will offer food and beverage options as well as a DJ on the deck Saturday. ย The first Bluegrass Sunday of the summer season will kick off June 16. The gondola will operate from 9 am โ€“ 4 pm for sightseeing and summer operations and the Ajax Express chairlift will run from 9 am โ€“ 1 pm, as long as conditions permit, for skiing and riding on Aspen Mountainโ€™s upper blue runs as well as black runs such as Summit and Blondieโ€™s. Everyone will be required to download on the gondola.
