Aspen Snowmass, CO, Announces 2024 Audi FIS World Cup and Stifel Aspen Winternational Schedule and Events

ASPEN SNOWMASS, Colo. — November 28, 2023 — The 2023-2024 winter season is officially underway and Aspen Snowmass is proud to once again host the Audi FIS Ski World Cup March 1-3 as part of the 2024 Stifel Aspen Winternational. This year’s lineup will feature a third race that was just announced last week, a giant slalom on Friday, March 1 that was added after the race in Solden, Austria was canceled on Oct. 29. Races will be held on Aspen Mountain at the following times (MST):

Friday, March 1:

  • 10:00 a.m.- Giant Slalom Run 1
  • 1:00 p.m.- Giant Slalom Run 2

Saturday, March 2:

  • 10:00 a.m. – Giant Slalom Run 1
  • 1:00 p.m.- Giant Slalom Run 2

Sunday, March 3:

  • 9:00 a.m.- Slalom Run 1
  • 12:00 p.m.- Slalom Run 2

The weekend’s Winternational celebration and events will commence with an Opening Ceremony and athlete bib draw in Snowmass Village on Thursday, February 29, followed by a three-day festival in the heart of Aspen at Wagner Park. Just down the hill from the race finish line, the Wagner Park Festival will feature musical performances as part of the Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series, as well as a bar, local food vendors, a sponsor village, racer bib draw, athlete meet-and-greets, local art displays, the Roch Cup awards ceremony and more.

Wagner Park will be open at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. on Sunday. On Friday, March 1, Aspen Snowmass will host the U.S. Ski Team athlete introductions on the Wagner Park stage at 6 p.m., followed by a meet & greet and autograph signing.

How to Watch

In Person:

  • Grandstands: Access to the grandstands at the finish area at the base of Shadow Mountain Lift (Lift 1A) will be free and available to all in-person viewers. The venue entrance is located at the corner of Monarch and Summit Streets. The race venue will be open at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. on Sunday.
  • On-Mountain: Lift tickets and skiing are required to view various sections of the course on-mountain. On-mountain course viewing will be available via the Silver Queen Gondola, FIS and Ruthie’s lifts. Shadow Mountain Lift (1A) will not be open to the public during the races.
  • ADA Event Access: ADA access is available through Challenge Aspen via drop-off at the top of Aspen Street with transfer to the viewing area. Please text Challenge Aspen at 970-230-1460 to make arrangements. Advance notice is highly recommended.
  • At Home: Audi FIS World Cup alpine, cross country, freestyle, snowboard, and freeski events held in the United States will be available to stream on all Outside+ platforms, including outsideonline.com, skimag.com, the Outside App, and Outside Watch. Live and delayed coverage will be available globally on CNBC and NBC.

Volunteer Information

In partnership with U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association and Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club, Aspen Skiing Company will manage a volunteer program for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup. There are ample opportunities to get involved and contribute in a meaningful way before, during, and after the event. Anyone assisting as a volunteer will receive custom-branded apparel from our sponsors and will be invited to a volunteer thank you party, which will include drinks and prize giveaways. VIP Passes on Sale Now

VIP passes are now on sale for the event. Passes can be purchased here. VIP passes are available for single days or a three-day event package, and grant visitors access to the Aspen World Cup VIP Lounge with elevated viewing of the race finish area. VIP passes are also available for the Wagner Lounge, offering a premium concert experience and the best seats in Wagner Park for enjoying the Bud Light Hi-Fi concerts. Lift tickets are not included with VIP access.

Winternational Poster Contest

New this season, Aspen Snowmass will welcome employees and community members to submit original art for the chance to have it chosen as the official featured artwork for the 2024 Stifel Aspen Winternational commemorative poster. Aspen Snowmass will choose ten finalists, and the winner will have their work printed and distributed throughout the weekend and added to Aspen’s storied collection of ski-racing art. The winner will also receive a $1,000 gift card to Aspen Snowmass. The nine runners-up will claim $200 gift cards to Aspen Snowmass and have their work featured throughout the weekend. Parking & Getting Around 

Parking is extremely limited in the town of Aspen, and Aspen Snowmass recommends utilizing the Roaring Fork Transporation Authority (RFTA), our local system of public-transport buses for the most timely and efficient event transportation. Park at the Brush Creek Park-and-Ride lot for service to both towns, our four mountains, and everywhere in between.

Free Audi shuttles to finish arena grandstands will run every 15 minutes with stops at the intersection of Monarch & Durant Streets, and the venue entrance located at Monarch & Summit Streets.
