Report from January 9, 2023

Yesterday I woke up in a foggy snowstorm feeling pretty darned tired.

I broke out of the hut with the crew for a down-valley powder lap.

The snow was good.

The skiing was phenomenal.

Dry, billowy, British Columbian powder snow.

On the skin track back up I knew it was the right day to roll home and rest.

Cracks. There was some instability out there but all we skied held loose dry snow that occasionally sluffed a bit slowly. image: snowbrains

I said my farewells to the group and very slowly put in a new skin track back to the hut.

It had snowed 6″ overnight and the entire valley was refreshed.

Thanks, British Columbia!
