Backcountry Access is pleased to announce the release of a new avalanche safety video series dubbed “BCA Live.” BCA Live brings quickly digestible avalanche education to the desktop and living room through 1- to 3-minute short videos presenting avalanche and backcountry safety topics like group mindset, working as a team, and calculating avalanche risk.

“We want to get people thinking about snow safety well before the season starts—and get them into avalanche safety courses. If last year is any indication, all the avy courses will be full before fall is over,” Bruce Edgerly, BCA Vice President, said on why BCA created the educational series.

Narrators of the BCA Live video series include Operations Manager and owner of Tordrillo North Ski and Snowboard Adventures Jim Conway, ACMG-certified guide, and owner of CAPOW! Marty Schaffer, Ski-Doo Ambassador Jeremy Mercier, AMGA Apprentice Guide AJ Appezzato, and of course, BCA co-founder Bruce Edgerly.

The BCA Live avalanche safety video series is an edit of the 60-minute Facebook Live events that Backcountry Access hosted during the 20-21 season. Edgerly explains, “It took a lot of dedication to set aside an hour to watch our Facebook Live events last season. With BCA Live, we’ve distilled them down to the main takeaways for those who couldn’t make it.”

The BCA Live avalanche safety series include these topics:

Backcountry skiers, snowboarders, and snowmobilers can watch BCA Live video episodes on their website or on the Backcountry Access YouTube channel.

Backcountry Access plans to continue its Facebook Live events this fall to keep people engaged and informed as the snow starts to fly.
