For the second year running, Brighton Resort is the first resort to start lifts turning in Utah. Two lifts were running, Majestic and Explorer, and will now be running daily from 9 am to 4 pm.

Giving eager riders just 24-hours notice, Brighton Resort announced on their Facebook the day before that they will be opening on Tuesday 19th. Nearby resorts Alta and Solitude both announced recently that they will be postponing their opening day, blaming warm weather. So kudos must go to the crew at Brighton for the stellar job in getting the slopes ready.

“Our snowmaking, our lifts crew, and operations crews, everybody has been working extra hard and we have the snow up here, we might as well take advantage of it and let people play on it,” said Jared Winkler, Director of Marketing

Brighton average 500 inches of light, fluffy and dry snow a season, making it a paradise for riders & skiers. They are located directly in the path of winter storms and are also at the very top of Big Cottonwood Canyon so it gets the very best of the “greatest snow on earth,” and lots of it. Brighton opened with a 12″ base, and 33″ of total snow this season.

And if you’ve yet to commit to your season pass, Brighton is offering unlimited riding through December 22nd for just $199 with the Bright-N-Early PassThe Bright-N-Early Pass expires after Dec. 22, but the resort will apply the amount you paid for your Bright-N-Early Pass toward the purchase of another 19/20 season pass product.
