Pennsylvania’s Biggest and Most Family-Friendly Ski Resort Opens today Friday, Nov 30th, with 15 acres of new beginner trails, a new top to bottom terrain park, 2 New Restaurants and more!
Camelback Mountain opens for the season this Friday, welcoming skiers, snowboarders, and snowtubers alike and officially commencing the resort’s 55th ski season.
Join us on opening day to ski or ride from 9am-4pm and enjoy music at the chairlift by DJ Highland, a Chuck the Camel mascot meet and greet and a chance to win hourly prizes. Also, open on Saturday and Sunday with all 3 days featuring the opening weekend lift ticket special – only $30.
USA’s biggest snowtubing park also opens Friday at noon and Saturday and Sunday at 9 am and stays open until 10 pm each evening. After dark, USA’s only Galactic Snowtubing experience comes alive when explorers race down lightning fast lanes with music and a disco light show.
“We have over 10-inches of natural snow and have experienced ideal snow making conditions for the past couple weeks,” said Ame Cameron, VP of Sales and Marketing at Camelback Resort. “Turning on our 20 new low energy snow guns has already made an impact on building our base and not only are we excited about the epic conditions they’ll help deliver from the start, but we’re also stoked about how they’ll help us to extend the season.”
Camelback Mountain offers close-to-home winter fun for beginners to experts from PA to major metro areas including: NY, Long Island, NJ, and MD. While known for the most skiable acres in the Poconos, 100% season-long snowmaking, #1 learn-to program, night skiing and two detachable high-speed quads, this season, Camelback Resort is introducing many new adventures including 15 acres of new beginner trails, a new top to bottom terrain park (in early 2019), two new ski-in/ski-out restaurants and more…
What’s New?
New Trail – Scarab! This freshly cut trail enables access from the West to the East side of the mountain and connects skiers and riders from one quad to the other, plus 15 acres of new beginner trails, serviced by the Glenn Lift.
New Top to Bottom Terrain Park – Camelback is debuting the new, CBK Park on the Pharaoh and Bactrain trails, under the Stevenson Lift. The new ‘show park’ will offer a range of features for riders of all abilities. Look for the official opening date in the new year.
Berrelli’s Family Style Italian – Located in one of the newly renovated base lodges, Berrelli’s offers the only family style Italian restaurant in the Pocono Mountains. Featuring a carefully curated wine list and specialty Italian wines on tap, Berrelli’s is open to the public, and offers ski-in/ski-out dining and live entertainment on Saturday afternoons.
Kartrite’s Summit House – Serving contemporary American fare with craft cocktails, Kartrite’s Summit House is the highest restaurant in the Pocono Mountains. Located at the top of the Sullivan Lift, the only thing that tops the food is the view. Explorers will enjoy ski-in/ski out access, grabbing a bite along with craft cocktail or two and browsing artwork from local artists.
New Winter. New Mountain. This winter Camelback Resort encourages explorers to make Camelback their mountain. Enjoy 38 trails, that will illuminate for night skiing and snowboarding, 100% snowmaking, and 16 lifts. Named the #1 place in America to learn to ski and snowboard by the Huffington Post, Camelback Resort is the recipient of the coveted Conversion Cup from the National Ski Area Association for excellence in beginner programs.
After a day on the slopes, families can continue their adventures at Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor waterpark. Located at the base of Camelback Mountain, the lodge offers ski check with ski-in/ski-out dining and other indoor adventures including USA’s #1 indoor waterpark. Housed under a 1.5 acre Texlon® transparent roof that allows for natural sunlight year-round, Aquatopia is always 84 degrees inside; features seven pools, 13 waterslides and a multitude of thrilling water attractions including America’s longest uphill watercoaster, surfing simulator, wave pool, adult swim-up bar and more.
