The Day Brought in 55 Amateur Snowboarders From Michigan and the Surrounding Areas To Compete in the Rail Jam Competition

The first-ever Red Bull Jib-Tac-Tow brought the heat to the Michigan winter as 55 amateur riders hit the rails during a new snowboarding competition inspired by the nostalgic game of tic-tac-toe. Hundreds of spectators from all over gathered at Cannonsburg Ski Hill on February 3 as 16 teams battled for Xā€™s and Oā€™s during the unforgettable adrenaline-fueling event.

The teams were judged by their ability to complete ā€œjibsā€ within each square of the life-sized tic-tac-toe board while facing off in a gnarly double-elimination bracket. Inspired by the schoolyard classic, snowboarders impressed the judges with their tricks that tested the limits of a typical rail jam at the Michigan rope tow terrain park.

The epic event was hosted by renowned snowboarding critic and comedian Stan Leveille along with a starstudded judging team that included Red Bull athlete and Michigan native Grace Warner, who just took home her first X Games gold medal last week, industry icon Mary Walsh and Grand Rapids-based street snowboarder Bret Kulas.Ā

The winning group, The Choppers, took home the glory and scored an exclusive trip to watch the iconic street snowboarding event happening next week, Red Bull Heavy Metal.

ā€œThis was such an incredible experience and I canā€™t believe we pulled it off. The energy and vibes were phenomenal, weā€™ll be thinking about this for a long time and itā€™s even better that it took place in our backyard. Thank you to the Red Bull team for pulling this together!ā€
