Copper Mountain, CO Opens Today with 275-Acres of Top-to-Bottom Terrain & Big Weekend of Partying

With more than five feet of natural snow falling early season, opening day today at Copper Mountain promises to be one to remember. Copper’s Super Bee lift out of East Village and Union Creek out of West Village start turning at 9 am offering access top-to-bottom terrain with seven lifts and 27 trails open to the public.

The following lifts and trails will be open to the public for skiing and riding out of Copper Mountain’s West and East Villages. There will be no lift access out of Center Village. Access into Center Village for dining and shopping will be available via Frank’s Fave.

East Village – Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Terrain

  • Super Bee  – Rhapsody, Fairplay to Skid Road, Frank’s Fave into Center Village
  • Excelerator – Ptarmigan, Mine Dump, CDL’s Trail #20, Brennan’s Grin, Hallelujah
  • Storm King – Hallelujah Ridge, Spaulding Ridge
  • Pitchfork – Green Acres

West Village – Beginner & Intermediate Terrain

  • Union Creek – Vein Glory, Easy Feeling, Minor Matter, Terrain Park Features
  • Timberline Express – Jacque’s Pique, Windsong, Woodwinds Traverse, The Moz, Copperfields, Tempo, Little Burn, Bucksaw, Woodwinds, Soliloquy

In addition to 275 acres of terrain opening at Copper, Welcome Home Weekend festivities include complimentary parking, 2 for 1 Rocky Mountain Coaster rides out of Center Village, free live music in East Village, raffle prizes and more.

It all kicks off at 8:30 am on Friday with giveaways from the Welcome Home Squad throughout Copper’s three villages and a first chair celebration at 9 am the Super Bee lift.  At 1 pm, Summit County’s very own funky blues band, Chris Bauer Trio, takes the stage in East Village for a free performance. The new 10 Barrel Brewing Mini Pub will also make its debut in East Village with a limited number of free beer tokens making for the perfect outdoor après scene.

For those looking to après indoors with a cold craft beer in hand, Ten Mile Tavern in Copper’s Center Village will be giving the first 50 people a limited edition Pray for Snow candle with purchase of a 10 Barrel beer both Friday and Saturday. At 12:45 p.m. on Friday, a raffle will commence in East Village with a variety of hard and soft goods from Copper’s signature partners.

On Saturday, Nov. 17, Woodward Copper kicks off its 10th anniversary season with the annual Barn Bash. Experience the indoor action sports paradise that is the Woodward Copper Barn with free sessions for the first 500 visitors, plus live music, giveaways, skate bowl expression session, pro athlete autograph signing and the Copper Mountain premiere of new movie “YES, it’s Been 10 Years” presented by YES Snowboards and Zeal Optics. Live music from Split Window will kick off at 1:30 pm in East Village with another raffle giveaway at 1 pm. Performing with as many as 12 musicians, Split Window is known for upbeat, danceable music with an approach to many genres.

On Sunday, East Village will be buzzing with more festivities including a free concert by Colorado’s own DeVotchKa at 1:30 pm. Sunday Funday continues with Woodward Copper offering $10 sessions at The Barn from 1 to 6:30 p.m. with $5 of each session donated to High Fives Foundation.
