Deep Powder. Chile. Drew Tabke. July 20th.

It’s no secret that Drew Tabke [the 2013 Freeride World Tour Champion] has had a long lasting love affair with Chile.  For years, Drew would put down Valle Nevado, Chile as his home ski resort when we competing in freeskiing competitions.

Valle Nevado got around 2 feet snow about 10 days ago.  It then cleared up on July 20th and it was ‘un dia espectacular’ as you can see in this video.  Drew was there and he harvested it about as well as anybody possible could have.

This video shows Drew and friends skiing road laps off El Colorado, Chile right next to Valle Nevado.  You just ride lifts, boot scoot and traverse, drop big lines down to the road, and hitch hike back.  Repeat as desired.

Conditions in this area of Chile have taken a turn since this video.  Warm temps and sunshine have cooked the snow and spring conditions abound.

The forecast shows a decent storm rolling through Valle Nevado on Saturday:
