Vail Resorts controversially announced back in August that all Epic Pass holders will be required to make a reservation to ski at their resorts. Yesterday, they released details on how the process, which opens on Friday, November 6th, will work:

Are you ready to reserve wide open spaces and fresh mountain air? We are here to help you do just that with some important information about our reservation system which opens Nov. 6 and is exclusive to pass holders through Dec. 7.

Excitement for the season is high and we anticipate our reservation system will be very busy during the first few days. There is no need to rush – we designed this exclusive month-long booking window to accommodate our pass holders’ requests.

If you are eager to jump right in, please expect wait times. To help us manage the busiest days, we have implemented an online waiting room that you will be automatically entered into when you visit or any of our resort sites. On Nov. 6, you can join the waiting room as early as 7 a.m. MST and pass holders will be able to make reservations starting at 8 a.m. MST. You can join at any time and you will be placed at the end of the queue.

To make your wait easier, you can enter your email address to be notified when it is your turn to make a reservation. Once you receive that email, you will have 20 minutes to click the link and access the reservation system. Thank you in advance for your patience!

Once you are through the waiting room, it will be time to reserve your days. Watch this video to get a sneak peek at what the reservation system will look like.

1) Sign into ‘My Account‘ on

2) Select the first resort you want to book

3) Pick the days you want, based on what your pass type allows

4) Choose the pass holders in your account that are going with you

5) Enter your contact details and press “complete reservation”

If you want to reserve days at another resort, repeat the process! You will receive an email confirmation letting you know your pass has been activated for those days! NOTE: To ensure we accommodate those who are looking to make a reservation, you will not be able to cancel or change your reservations until Nov. 17.

As a reminder, when the reservation system opens, pass holders will have access to reserve up to 7 Priority Reservation Days for the Core Season. You can also book as many week-of reservations for the Early Season as your pass type and availability allows. We ask that you only book the days you can actually ski and ride. For Keystone, which opens Nov. 6, pass holders will be able to make week-of reservations (Nov 6 – 13) for opening week starting Nov. 4. 1. I am seriously frustrated…I can’t remember my password….the site says to reset pasword…when it comes back that it can’t be done and I have to call the given #…..and then it says call back or go online….I want to rip someones throat out….this is not good customer relations…you’ve got me by the ( blank) and I cant load in my days for my upcoming trip…..this is not the 1st time.

  2. How do you view your existing reservations? There should be some sort of dashboard or something where pass holders can view and cancel reservations. If there is, I cannot find it.

    1. Go to “my account.” Select guest information. Then select “season passes.” Scroll down to just below your picture & select “reservations.”
Whoever set that system up needs to be butt-kicked.

      1. Hi David, this does not work for me. When I follow your instructions (my account –> season passes –> my ticket. –> reservations tab) there still is no place to cancel the reservation. To illustrate, the reservation tab tells me what my reservation dates currently are, but the only other button within the drop down is an orange “reservations” button that simply takes you back to the reserve ski days page. I cannot stress how frustrating this is because I need to change my reservation soon or I won’t be able to make it. Anything helps. Let me know if I am doing something wrong or if something else can be done.

  3. I need to cancel my reserved ski days at Heavenly. I went on my account as instructed by you to do this, but there is no way I could find to cancel days. Help.
