Tucked into the Coast Mountains just north of Pemberton, BC is some of the best ski terrain in the world. One of the crown jewels of this little backcountry big mountain mecca is Whitecap Alpine Adventures. Based in McGillivary Pass, 50km NE of Pemberton, Whitecap Alpine has been hosting people at their backcountry lodge for years. It’s a cozy place, with all the modern amenities packaged in a gorgeous mountain setting.

This March, Evo.com is hosting an all women’s backcountry skiing and snowboarding trip at Whitecap. For four days from March 28th to April 1st, Whitecap Mountain Guides, certified by the ACMG, will show you some of the best ski touring terrain in North America. The bonus here is twofold: first, you’ll be staging in and out of Pemberton, BC, which is about 25min up the Sea to Sky Highway from Whistler. Both places have been going off this March, with cold smoke powder pretty much all month long. So on your way in or on your way out, you have tons of other options to ski. Second, you’ll be ski touring or splitboarding in 85 square kilometres of winter bliss.

Does anything compare to backcountry skiing and riding?

This ski trip is special. Evo.com and Whitecap are proud to host an all women’s backcountry ski and snowboard trip. It’s chance to connect to some unbelievably talented female guides, meet other women who are into shredding the backcountry and relax and chill in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. And you don’t have to be a ninja to come. On the second and third days, the groups will be divided into two according to pace, so you don’t have to spend your holiday chasing folks uphill to get your shred on.

The guides will be doing a little teaching as well, and you’ll come away with some new friends, a few tips and tricks to make the most of your future ski touring endeavours and a bit better knowledge on how to stay safe in the mountains.

Food is almost as important as the skiing.
