Due to snowfall, rain, and fog, both Downhill training runs at Kvitfjell, Norway, in the lead-up to the World Cup race on Saturday, March 2, had to be canceled. The canceled Downhill race will be replaced with a Super-G event. Super-G events do not require training runs, so the decision was made to change the format. This decision was also made, since two Super-G races from last weekend in Val di Fassa, Italy, had to be canceled due to heavy snowfall. Saturdayโ€™s Super-G event will serve as a replacement race for one of the two canceled Italian Super-G events.

These two Super-G races in Kvitfjell will be the last two Super-G races of the season before the World Cup Finals in Saalbach, Austria, at the end of March.

The ’23/’24 winter has seen a total of five Super-G races after which Switzerlandโ€™s Lara Gut-Behrami is in the lead with 360 points. Breathing down her neck is Austriaโ€™s Cornelia Hรผtter with 355 points and still with a chance to claim the Super-G Crystal Globe is Italyโ€™s Federica Brignone with 326 points. First place is awarded with 100 points, second place with 80, and third place with 60 points, so anything is still possible at this point.
