Treble Cone has been fully open for a few days now and the skiing has been phenomenal. A big storm a week ago left about 70 centimetres on the upper mountain and about 30 centimetres on the lower mountain. A second storm on Wednesday topped things up nicely with another 15cm. The Home Basin and the Saddle Basin opened initially on Saturday with most of the town of Wanaka present and excited. The Summit slopes were opened yesterday with deep powder and perfect weather.

Saddle Basin - Good coverage, quite tracked out.
Saddle Basin – lots of tracks that will all be covered very soon!

A few gullies have been filled in very well each night with windblown snow; Mineshaft, Upper and Lower Gunbarrel and the Crags have been excellent the past few days. The small base in the Home Basin has limited grooming, currently only Easy Rider and Raffles Run are being groomed. Main street which is typically groomed is currently quite icy. The Motutapu Chutes are closed, the Matukituki Basin is open but bring your rock skis if you plan to explore over there.

Gunbarrel and Home Basin
Looking across the Home Basin. Upper Gunbarrel nicely filled in, Lower Gunbarrel still a little sharky.
