Special thanks to Rich Meyer, Sean Malee, Polly Layton and all of the guides and the amazing flight crew that executed the highest ever rescue on Mt. Shasta. We are honored to be part of such a professional, skilled, and compassionate crew and so grateful for the positive outcome of this incident.โ โ Chris Carr. image: chris carr9โฒ
โOn June 22, H-14 responded to Mount Shasta to attempt a rescue of a climber who had fallen near the summit. H-14 was stripped of almost all of its equipment to be light enough to affect the rescue, including the FLIR camera. The crew decided to โgo aroundโ on two approaches but was able to set down on the third approach. With the climber loaded, H-14 flew directly to Mercy Mount Shasta under 5 minutes and transferred him to a waiting ambulance. To date, this is the highest rescue performed on Mount Shasta by the Northern Division Air Operations unit.โ- Mt. Shasta Avalanche Center
Not one mention of the CHP in this blog. You even blocked the California Hwy. Patrol logo on CHP Air Ops. H-13. They do more risky rescues than your SMC ever will and will help you when you are unable to do the job,
I guess youโre still upset about that speeding ticket.
Wowโฆ. down in front Richard. This is an article about the safe execution of a rescue at high altitude. Not who gets the most points for doing more work. I guarantee that the CHP does excellent work, but so does SMC. Credit where credit is due. For you to troll on such a article of achievement, is pretty petty.
I would expect nothing less from my Son! One proud Father!
