For those who made it their New Yearโs resolution to learn to ski or snowboard, Homewood Mountain Resort on Lake Tahoeโs west shore is making it easier than ever to give downhill winter sports a try. This season, first-timers are invited to be one of 70 people to enjoy a free lesson on โThe Very Best Day to Learn to Ski and Ride,โ or to get a free season pass after completion of three half-day lessons through the โEasy as 1-2-3โ program.
โWe know when people learn to ski or snowboard, many fall in love with the sport after receiving instruction and feeling first-hand, the sensation of sliding on snow,โ said Kevin Mitchell, general manager of Homewood Mountain Resort. โWeโre offering incredible value on our ski and snowboard lesson programs in an effort to introduce more people to the sports we love, and help them to become passionate about spending time outdoors and in the snow.โ
The Very Best Day to Learn to Ski and Ride
Homewood will bring back โThe Very Best Day to Learn to Ski and Rideโ for its second year on Monday, January 20. Featuring 70 free first-timer lessons (including lift ticket and rental equipment) for 50 adults (13+) and 20 children (12 and under) available on a first-come, first-served basis, the day will also include complimentary hot chocolate, sโmores, live music and more. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. and lessons begin at 10:00 a.m.
Easy as 1-2-3 Lessons Include Free Season Pass
Homewoodโs newest lesson program makes learning to ski or ride as โEasy as 1-2-3.โ First-time skiers and riders ages 13+ who pre-purchase a 3-Pack ski or snowboard lesson will receive a free 2019-20 Homewood season pass upon completion of the program. An incredible value for first-timers and an offer that is sure to help winter sport newcomers fall in love with skiing and riding, the Easy as 1-2-3 program is available in limited quantities from $297 (a $1,236 value).

$69 Adult (13+) Learn to Ski or Ride January Special
First-time skiers and snowboarders interested in learning are offered incredible value when they take a lesson at Homewood. During the month of January, first-timer packages are offered for only $69 and include a half-day lesson, all-day lift ticket accessing beginner terrain, and all-day equipment rental Sunday through Thursday, non-holiday.
All-Day Childrenโs Lessons
Homewood makes it easy for children to learn to ski. All-day lessons complete with equipment and helmet rental, lunch, and all-day lift tickets start at $229 for a single day. For those who want to extend their purchasing power, childrenโs lesson 3-packs are available for $495 ($165 per day).
Private Lessons Accommodate Up to Five Friends or Family Members
For those who want to level up their skiing or riding, or simply enjoy convenient access to ski school lift lines, Homewoodโs private lessons are designed to accommodate up to five friends or family members of radically different ability levels. Whether wanting to learn together or split an all-day lesson into blocks for different ability levels, private lessons make these scenarios possible. Private lesson rates start at $129. Equipment rentals and lift tickets sold separately.
