Yesterday was quite possibly the best day of the year at Squaw Valley. Despite the unseasonably warm temperatures (with a high in the mid 50s), the skiing was good everywhere at Squaw.ย The Slot was smooth and ripping, all of Mainline Pocket was ready to go, and Cornice II bowl had a plethora of fun mini airs.
The Good
- Mainline Pocket was ready to rip
- The Slot to C2 Bowl
- Granite Chief Peak (though it closed early)
The Bad
- It was around 50 degrees, and felt like 70
Granite Chief Peak was also looking quite ripping, but due to warm temperatures it was closed by 11.ย Headwall was the place to be for the afternoon, with nothing but smooth soft snow to found.ย The Mainline Pocket session in the AM proved to be quite fun, with things a touch firm up high but perfect corn snow landings down low.
